Girl Torn Bear Card

This was my first attempt at making one of those adorable tear bears!! Well, I am thinking that this is going to be one of those practice makes perfect things. They are harder to make than they look. I do think it is a very sweet bear, but I have alot of skills that I would like to refine with this new interest of mine. I tried something new with my envelopes too which I am finding that I really like alot. It adds a finish to the edges that gives it a much smoother look. I have so many things on my mind that I want to do, that I think I am getting overloaded with too many ideas at one time. My new goal is going to be to take things one step at a time and sooner or later I will get to everything. We'll see how that works for me ; )

Elegant Rose Card

My husband got me this stamp for Christmas, and I think it is so beautiful! I really wanted to do it justice, so I had to design an elegant and formal card. I think it would be lovely for a wedding or for a golden wedding anniversary. I love the colors and I think I have come to realize that these kinds of cards are my favorite kind to make.
I used the new nestabilities out now and put gold doilies under that to make it look classy. The wide sheer ribbon is from Christmas, but you would never guess it to look at how it coordinates with this card perfectly. Those corner dies always fancy up a card like this too, so I do use them alot. I can't seem to get tired of them. The rose is layered 3 times, and I could have done more, but did not want to have it pop too much so that it fit in with the rest of the card. This one just went onto auction on Ebay tonight. I may do something more whimsical for my next creation.

Valentine Dog Shaker Card

I had these little heart shaker boxes waiting around for me to use, and after the holidays were over, I got so busy that I didn't have time to do very much crafting. I could not let Valentine's Day pass though without making at least one of these shaker cards. I absolutely LOVE pink. I think it has always been my favorite color, so I took advantage of the Valentine tradition and created this card with only shades of pink and white. I love the way it looks. I have never used the micro beads in my shakers before. I had always used the glitter, but I really love the way this looks and may use it again. I wasn't sure how I was going to fit that beautiful dog into this card, but I was determined to do it, because I have been wanting to use this image for quite some time now. I am not sure why, but I tend to get a creative block when I am trying to make cards with dogs on them. I almost never have that same problem with any of my other images. I have not figured out what causes this for me yet, but I am determined to overcome it : ) I should be getting more heavily into my crafting with no other holidays coming up quickly. I just got some new stamps, so I am really excited to start using them.
