A Belated Thank You For A Blog Award From A New Friend!

I have been meaning to post this Thank You for awhile now, but I have not had much time to sit at my computer to write it up.

A couple weeks ago, I got this very sweet blog award from a new blog friend:  Susan of Susan's Quillings.  I wanted to give her a huge Thank You and tell her how much I appreciate it and how honored I am that she chose me to give it to.   I have so enjoyed meeting and making so many new friends in the blog world.  It has inspired me so much and really brought alot of joy to my days.  I know that I will not be posting as much throughout the summer months, but I hope that all my blog friends will stick it out with me until the Fall rolls around again, and I may have more crafting time and time to post and catch up on blogging.  I will still be here from time to time throughout the summer to share what's been going on and hope to visit many of you too.

Have a safe and wonderful Memorial Day weekend, and hope to see you again soon.

THE NEW BABY..............

It's A Girl!!!!
We aren't really sure what her name is yet.  It is quite a shame, since we have had her for about 2 weeks now.  It's been hard for us all to agree on a single name.  I hope she will be named soon, so that we can start calling her something other than kitty.  She is a very sweet little girl that also has a frisky side.lol...yes, that was one of the names we were throwing around.   She loves to be cuddled, sleep, and play hard.  She loves to terrorize her birdie brother and sister, and they are getting a little bit tired of her antics.  We all really love her alot, and she adds so much fun and smiles to all of us.

Here is her "innocently" sleeping.

The laptop is one of her favorite spots, so I can forget about spending any "real" time on there if she is around.

Here is her not-so-innocent side.  Her just wants to "play" with the birdies ; )

Here she is watchin' the outside birdies.

"I know I am in trouble for climbing this screen, but I really thought I could catch that birdie"

I hope you enjoyed some of the pictures of our new little sweetie.  I will be back to check in soon.  Have a wonderful evening, and if you like, leave me a comment and let me know what you think of her.  : )

21st Birthday Wishes to my son....a little early ; ) MMSC54

If you hadn't noticed, I have not been keeping up very well with my crafting lately, but I really wanted to make a card for my son's 21st birthday this year...which isn't until June, but I wanted to be ready, since everything else is taking a back seat.  I didn't want to find myself at birthday week and no card.  I can't believe my little boy is a man now!!  So, as most of you know and even share with me the difficult task of finding a suitable image for a masculine card....I remembered that I had this Thomas Kinkade stamp from the kind folks at Cornish Heritage Farms, and I thought it would work nicely for what I had in mind.  I will tell you though that I had quite a time getting a good image with this, and I don't know if it is just me, or the ink I am using or the color or what, but I could not get the detail in this image that I was hoping for.  It was a very dark, line-blended image that was hard to color as a result.   If anyone has any tips that they would be willing to share with me for stamping images like this, I am all ears.  Please tell me!  I have tried black memento ink, staz on ink, and even lighter colored inks, and still not satisfied : (

On a more positive note, I was pretty pleased with how this came out in the end, and I think that it passes just fine for a masculine card.  However, I think that any woman would love a card like this too.  I know that I just adore all of the Thomas Kinkade artwork.

I have missed my friends/family over at the Midnight Madness site, so I am entering this card into the MM challenge this week, and I really look forward to hearing from my old DT sisters over there.  They are having a huge anniversary celebration over there, and this week, they are having a barbeque and want us to share a favorite of ours about barbeques.  I have LOTS of favorites, but since I am lacking pictures, I will share that my favorite place to barbeque is at the lake.  We used to do this all the time when I was little, and those are memories that have stayed with me throughout my life.  I think that will always be a favorite barbeque place for me.  I have to say though, that even without having a picture, my favorite dish for a barbeque is potatoe salad.  Wish I didn't love it so, but I do!  You should drop by the MM blog and see all the great recipes that the girls have shared over there and then join in on the fun.
I flipped the sketch and took a few liberties with it to make it fit my needs, but I think it is still a nice flair to the sketch.  I hope my friends over there agree.

Thanks for sharing some time with me today, and drop me a line if you have a moment.  I would love to hear your comments on my card.  I could use the reassurance that this card is masculine enough for a 21 year old ...man...
Have a beautiful and blessed day!

Thank You Bunches, Teacher

Hi Friends~ I am popping in for a quick hello~
I wanted to share with you a quick card that I put together for my son's teacher for Teacher appreciation week last week.  Unfortunately, with as busy as my life is lately, she did not get this card until this Monday, because I just could not find the time to finish it before the end of the week last week.  Oh, if only I could manage my time better or if someone could add a few extra hours to the days!

I used one of my Popcorn Bears stamps (from McMahon Five Designs Store) again for this card.  Perfect for a card like this!  I also tried out a new corner punch that I was lucky enough to find at one of our local stores here.  I have to say that I love it, and I think I will be using that one alot more.

The envelope was made with Priscillastyles envelope kit that you can find here if you haven't tried one out yet.  It is a must have and so easy to use!

So at the end of the day, we had a happy teacher, a happy little boy and a pleased Mommy that she could bring a smile to some pretty special people in her life.   I hope I might bring a smile to some of my blogging friends too, and I thank you for giving me a moment in your day.  Please leave me a comment to let me know your thoughts.  I love to come here and read a message from my friends, so you bring a smile to me as much as I try to bring one to you.
Have a beautiful day!

A Little Mixed Up Post...Father's Day....!!

I think I have some 'splainin' to do. lol.....  This card is one that I did for the M5D, and I guess I forgot to post it!!!  My DT position is up there, and I was suppose to have this posted in April.  I am so sorry, Sue!!  I guess these days, I don't know if I am coming or going.  With all else that is going on, I am feeling terrible this week.  Don't know if it is allergies or if I caught a cold somewhere.  It's really making me feel run down.  The good news is that because I am stuck in here with feeling so bad, I did get on my computer and look at my blog and my pictures, so low and behold came across this card!
So, I realize that today is Cinco de Mayo, and that this weekend is Mother's Day!!  Why not post a Father's Day card?  Everything else around here is backwards.

This is my hubby's card for Father's day this year.  I love this cute bear that I got from the M5D store.  There are some really cute sets with this Popcorn Bear over there.  I also used some of their zebra wood paper and the champagne colored pearls.  Sue has really stocked up the store with some great items.  Some really great digi's too.  Pop over for a look yourself Here

We are starting a vegetable and fruit garden this year, so I will take some pictures of the progress along the way to show you....if Mother Nature cooperates with us and we do have a productive garden.  Luckily, we have planted some grass, and it is actually growing. lol....  Wish us luck!  I do love garden vegetables!

Thanks for dropping by for a visit with me today.  I hope you enjoyed my creation, even if the timing is not so perfect.  Hope to see you again soon, and please drop me a line in the comments to let me know your thoughts.  It always puts a smile on my face and brightens my whole day.  I thank those of you that take the time to do so.  Bless you and hope your day is wonderful too.
