This was our share of the snow.....

We got 25 inches of snow by the time this picture was taken.  It was still snowing at the time.

I took this one, so that you could see how much actually accumulated on the sidewalks. BTW, I shoveled about 10-12 inches of snow on this same walk right before I went to bed and woke up to find this much more on the ground.

There is a car in there somewhere.  This was the hardest part of snow removal today.  We do the old fashioned way with a shovel.  No snow blowers here.  : (

These are our front steps.  Can you see them there vaguely?
What a day!  I am sore and tired, but the kids had fun it it, so not all was bad.

I hope that most of you escaped this storm and for you that have....let me know where you are, and I am in the market for a new state to live in....nice and warm and where they have no idea what a snow plow is.

Have a beautiful weekend everyone, and stay warm!

~~~Now, onto my sample for this week~~~
This was such a fun image to work with, and I enjoyed embellishing this card with all the pawprints, dog bones, and chew ropes.  I also added a rhinestone collar, because he just seemed like the kind of dog that would wear one of those.  Doesn't he look like a good dog?  I had to add the chipboard words to his dog house to show what a good dog he is.  I also added just a touch of sparkle to him and lots of shine to his coat.
I hope you enjoy my card this week and find some inspiration to create your own work of art for the challenge this week.  I look forward to visiting you, and please leave a comment to let me know that you dropped by and what you think.  Thank you for your time, and have a great day!
May many blessings come your way!
I Have Some Very EXCITING DT News To Share With You............
I have had the hardest time keeping this to myself until today, because I am bursting with excitement about this news!
I have been chosen to be on the very first McMahon Five Design Team along with some other Amazingly talented ladies:  BonnieKristineLorelie,  and   Michelle.  Stop by their blogs and see what they are showcasing for M5D today.
I never thought I would take on another DT position, but before I retire from them, I had to do this one last spot, because I could not pass up the chance to promote such a wonderful store for a wonderful person.
Sue (owner of McMahon Five Design) offers some amazing products in her store, and one of my very favorites is her wood paper and envelopes.  It is unique to her and her store, and I have come to love it so much, that I can't seem to live without it ; )   Once you try this out, you will see what I mean and want to stock it in your closet too.  It is the perfect thing to grab when wondering what to use for that hard-to-make masculine card that so many of us struggle with.  It is also great for nature cards and truefully looks beautiful on any themed card.  Check out Sue's Idea Alley to see some samples.  M5D also carries a wide variety of other supplies from Digi Stamps, rubber stamps, Primas, gems, nesties.....and the list goes on and on.  Her prices are amazingly some of the most affordable that I have seen out there too.  It is a one-stop shop for me which I why I am so extremely excited to be a part of this wonderful team.
M5D puts out a wonderful newsletter to keep you posted on the latest in their shop, and if you sign up for it, you will receive exclusive tips, tutorials and coupons to use in the store.  Sue does her very best to find out what crafters are struggling the most with and will give some of the most helpful tips to make things easier for those of us that may not be able to figure some of this stuff out.  I know for myself, Sue has helped me tremendously with working with digi stamps.  I used to avoid them just because I didn't know how to use them.  Now, I just love the wider variety of images that are available to me because I have learned how to use them.  Sue also offers freebie digi's occasionally, and they are really awesome, so don't miss out on those.
Now, onto my card:
This is a super cute Teddy Bear Digi image available at M5D and I couldn't resist using this for my first sample card as part of the DT.  I used some of the wood paper to frame the image, and the nice thing about most of the wood paper is that you can still cut and use your nesties to cut and shape the paper.  I also used some of the cream-colored flowers that are available at her store as well, and you can even get a variety of colors to choose from for the gems that I used in the center of the flowers.  I am a gem addict, and I am really loving the self-adhesive gem flourishes out there now, and cannot wait to get some of them to start adding them to my creations.  I hope that you have enjoyed my first sample card for M5D and that you will go check out the other DT girl's blogs and then hop over to the M5D store and see all of the wonderful things they have to offer.
Thanks for sharing in my excitement today, and I hope you will keep coming back to visit me.  I will have much to show you in the coming months.   Please feel free to leave me a comment.  I would love to hear your thoughts and always appreciate your feedback about my work.
Many Blessings to you....Have a wonderful Day!  ( :
Floral Bird Card with LOTS of Pictures to see... : )
Hi Everyone~  Well, I have missed another week of the MMSC challenge, but I will be back to normal with the Design Team next week and will post my card along with the other girls then.  Don't miss it or the fun that continually goes on over there.
I wanted to at least give a post this week for you all to look at, and I thought this one might be a good one to list.  I made this awhile back as a special request from a friend, and I took what seemed like a million pictures of it, because there is just so much to see, so you get to see lots and lots on this one.  My daughter told me when I was making it that it was like a storybook that you had to see from beginning to end.   This took a long time to make, but I really do like it.  The image itself is raised about 1/2 inch off of the base of the card, so that it does not get lost in all the flowers, and then sheer ribbon is just weaved and flows throughout with a bow at the top.  There are lots of flowers, butterflies and rhinestones along with sparkle and shine in this very feminine, soft and delicate creation.  The envelope is VERY deep and roomy for this card to comfortably fit in and is decorated every bit as much as the card is inside and out.   I hope you enjoy all the pictures.  Please feel free to leave a comment and share your thoughts with me.  I always look forward to hearing your input regarding my work.
Thanks for taking the time to drop by today, and I hope you have a wonderful week.  See you again soon.
Until then, may many blessings come your way~
My First Crocheted Flower Card
Hi Everyone!
I don't have a MMSC post for this week, because I got backed up when my husband was here, so I have to sit out and catch up a bit.  Please don't miss the MMSC fun though.  Go check out Priscilla's Blog and join in the fun this week.
I made this card before Christmas, and I thought it would be a good time to show it to you, since I don't have my regular post for the week.
I have wanted to crochet flowers on my cards for some time now, because I have seen some really beautiful ones from some friends of mine, so I bought a book and started to crochet.  Keep in mind, it has been over 20 years since I have picked up a crochet hook to make anything!  I couldn't even believe that I remembered anything at all!!  My memory is escaping me anyway.  Wellllll, one thing I did not see coming was how BIG this flower turned out to be.  I wanted a small flower embellishment to use on a card with an image on it...instead, I made a flower that had to take up the WHOLE card. lol  Good grief.  Oh well, I didn't want it to go to waste, so here is what has become of it.
I don't know that I will be crocheting anymore flowers out of this particular book, unless I am looking for something for a bigger project, but I would love to find a book that has smaller flower patterns in it.  We'll see.  Not so sure these old hands have what it takes to do that tiny, tedious work anymore either : (
Hope you like my creation even if it didn't turn out how I originally intended.   You never know what you are going to get until you try, right?
Have a great week.  May many blessings come your way!
A Question For My Blogging Friends....
Since the blogosphere is the largest group of people that I will ever get to talk to and make friends with, I was hoping that some of my friends and visitors might be able to help me with a question that I have.  Please don't hesitate to leave a thought or comment whatever it may be.  I appreciate any and all input that I can get.  So, here it is.................
We are looking to move from our house this year, and one of our concerns is finding what we want in the timeframe that we are hoping to move in.  We have looked at the listings in our area, and so far have not found something to suit our needs.  We also want to be able to move in a reasonable amount of time, so one of the things that we are considering right now is looking into modular homes...please note: we want modular...not manufactured or mobile.  It would give us the freedom to custom design the home the way that we want it, and the size that we want it as well as cutting down construction time enough to get us where we want to be alot quicker.  I understand they are far more energy efficient than traditionally built homes as well as sturdier in construction.  They also boast that you almost always save money in the cost of the home than if you were to buy or build another way.  There are many vacant lots that we are interested in, so that will not be a problem for us.
My question to you, my friends is:  Do any of you live in a modular home or know anyone else that does or has?  If so, can you share any positive or negative thoughts on them?  Right now, we are just in the research phase, and would love to know that whatever choice we make, that we will not regret it in a year or 5-10 years from now.   My primary concerns are of course, quality, durability over time, cost and/or hidden costs beyond the construction of the house, any problems with financing or selling when the time comes.
I know that is alot of questions to my CRAFT friends, but I figure that someone out there might know something about this that they would be willing to share with me.
So, just mixing it up a bit this week and giving you all something different to read on my blog.  Don't worry, I will be back to posting my cards again shortly.
Thanks to anyone who is kind enough to comment.  I appreciate you and value your thoughts and comments.  God Bless you!!
Have a beautiful weekend!
