A Look Back........Hawaiian Hibiscus Card
(A look back to one of my early card creations from the summer of 2008. This was one of the first larger cards that I had ever made) I was very much a newbie to crafting when this card was made : )
This month marks my one-year anniversary of hand-crafting cards. My journey began after leaving my job of 16 years to finally become a stay-at-home Mom. After a couple of months of not working, I had a craving to do something productive AND creative. I sort of fell into the world of card making via ebay. I have sold on ebay for quite some time and a friend encouraged me to give selling my cards a try on ebay. I justified this by hoping that it would become a part-time job for me and that I could earn some extra money selling my cards. With this dream on my horizon, I wondered how I would get someone to want to pay for one of my cards. Being someone who had never made a card before, what were my chances? I have always loved art and creating, so I figured at first that I had nothing to lose by giving it a try. Of course, I became addicted to this craft almost immediately. Even though I was not very good at all in the beginning, I had such a craving to learn about this art and become better. I have had so much positive encouragement from my friends, buyers and other sellers, that I had come to really enjoy and look forward to sharing my creations with you. I can't believe that a year has come and gone already and how far I have come from those first cards that I attempted. I continue to learn every day and find much inspiration and encouragment from looking at the work of many others and talking with so many fellow crafters out there with tons of talent. Thank you to all of you that made my first year fun, creative, enjoyable and exciting. I really look forward to another great year with you all.
I may share a few of my first cards that I made over the next few weeks, just so that you can see the difference in my work from then to now.
Thanks for dropping by to share a look back with me!!
