Happy Birthday to my Daughter!!

Well, I think I survived the first day of school but with much anxiety this year.  I have never been so nervous about a new school year before, and that is saying something, since I have been a Mom for over 21 years now!  This is my daughter's first year of high school.  My middle son is doing cyber school this year.  I am very nervous about this to say the least, but pray for the best...and my little guy is finishing out his last year of elementary school this year.  The years are just slipping by.  I wish we could slow the clock a little bit and have more time!

So, I have to share with you today a card that I made for my daughter's 15th birthday.  She is a tough one to make cards for.  She loves them all, but they are not always her style.  She is not a "girly" girl by the term, but she does love the things that girls love....lots and lots of clothes, shoes, perfumes...etc.  However, don't mess with this girl.  She is the sister to THREE brothers.... tough as nails, and she does not take a single thing that they have to dish out.  They fear going near her room and always ask me to ask her something if they want to talk to her.  LOL.  Now, I love that this child of mine is so confident and independent....BUT, she needs to take it down a few notches and not always start out on the defensive, right?

So, having said all that.....this card was made with a bit of some of the things that she loves.  She loves animals and her two birds.  She loves butterflies and the color teal.  She also LOVES books and reads ALOT....so what is going in the inside pocket of this card is a gift card to a book store in our mall here.   If nothing else, I know that part will be a hit :)

This image is from Cornish Heritage Farms and works really well with the Mariposa papers.

Thanks for visiting me today and sharing a glimpse at what my daughter's special day will hold for her.   Hope you enjoyed your time here and hope to see you again soon.  Have a wonderful day!

Hugs,

Blog Award to share....

What a lovely surprise from my sweet friend: Chelsea.  Thank you so much Chelsea for this wonderful award.  I am very honored to have been chosen to recieve it and thank you very much for everything else that you have done for me in the past.  You are one of the most talented ladies that I know of, and always so kind to share and give a helping hand when needed.   I treasure your friendship and feel blessed to have come to know you in that last couple of years.

Now, here are the rules:

1 - Thank the person who gave you the award.

2 - Post the award on your blog.

3 - List 3 things about yourself.

  • I love God and thank him for all the blessings he has given me in my life....most importantly my family!
  • I love a clean house, but I hate to be the one to clean it.
  • Summer is my favorite time of the year.  I will miss it so much!
4.  Post a picture that you love.

I don't like posting pictures of my family online, so I will share this picture of a beautiful rainbow just before evening that we were blessed to see a few weeks ago after a nice rain.  Miracles from God are always a favorite of mine...especially ones that you can take a picture of and enjoy over and over again.

5.  Pass the award to 5 other friends.

I would love to post this to many, many blog friends online that have been wonderful and supportive of me and my work from the very beginning.  Having said that and knowing that I appreciate each and every one of you equally, I will choose the following five this time:

Thank you all for your friendship and inspiration!  Thank you too for dropping by today, and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Princess Kitty Gatefold Card (MMSC67)

A quickie today.  I wanted to play with my old friends from Midnight Madness today.  I miss them, and it has been awhile since I had the chance to play, so I stayed up really late last night and put this card together quick for the challenge.  It is a gatefold card with a cute kitten image from Shawne Arnold @ Clear Dollar Stamps.  I hope you all like it and that my friends from Midnight Madness like it too.

Thanks for dropping by for a quick visit today.  Have a nice day everyone.

Cherished Teddy Christmas Angel Card

Hi my friends~  I want to thank you all for your supportive comments and encouragment since my last post.  It really means alot to me, and I am so grateful for my blogging friends.

I had this card and post ready to go for a good while now, and I thought I might as well post it now to give you all something new from me to look at.  Almost all I have really crafted lately has been Christmas cards for my family and friends.  I want to be sure to have them done for the holiday season.  If I ever do finish them and have any kind of time at all, I may do something different.  I have to play it by ear and take it a day at a time.   I just never know what each day will bring anymore, so I have to just wait and see how they go.

Hope you enjoy viewing and visiting me today.  Thank you for your time and again for your support.  You are all wonderful blessings to me.  Have a beautiful weekend!
Hugs,

Vintage Bee Card....Sheer Elegance

Hi Everyone~ I am going to apologize in advance if you don't see me on here too much.  Things in my life right now are really hectic and to put it mildly...stressful.  In a perfect world, I could craft and post something for you every day and would be so happy to do that, but unfortunately, I do not live in a perfect world.  I do visit many of you with envy much of the time when I read of how you can juggle everything in your world, have a loving husband who is supportive of your crafting and still have time to care for your house and your children.  I guess maybe I don't have the organizational skills that I need for the juggling of things, nor do I have the support for free crafting, so it is just becoming harder and harder over time to manage all that needs done and have a content family too.  Some of you know, but many of you don't that two of my children have Asperger's syndrome which is a diagnosis that is on the Autism spectrum.  In addition to that, my older son also suffers from a multitude of other problems.  There have been many things that we have been trying to do over this summer to make progress in helping him, but as much as we want what is best for him and for all of our kids, these things are stressors on a family in general, so things are beginning to eek there way into our lives that are causing us to react to these stressors.  I just wanted to explain briefly to you that if ever I am absent from blogging for a little bit or didn't get a chance to visit you even when I really should, I am just getting a bit overwhelmed with life right now.  I hope that in time things could even out and life could be somewhat normal....or at least manageable.  I can't imagine not crafting anymore at all, but I believe that we are tested every day of our lives in some way, and I hope that I am able to become stronger and get through this test as a better person.   I hope I didn't ramble on too much......and I really want to share something that I have had ready to post for quite awhile now and am just now getting around to posting...

This image is a digital print from Sugar Creek Hollow.  I really loved it from the first time I saw it, and I knew I had to go vintage....and a touch of shabby too.  The flowers and lace ribbon as well as the corner embellishments are from McMahon Five Designs.  I used my copics to color the image and added some sparkle with star dust stickles.

I hope you enjoy my card, and as always I thank you and appreciate your support of my crafting by your comments and visiting me.  Have a wonderful day.

Many Blessings to you my friends!
